BTS has been ruled ineligible for the 'Best New Artist' nomination.
Eligibility for the upcoming Grammy Awards closed on September 30th and BTS, unfortunately, did not make into the nomination. In spite of people's opinion that the boy group indeed deserves to be recognized as they have made history (several times, in fact) in the U.S this year, BTS is found nowhere at the Grammy's 'Best New Artist' nomination.

To this, Forbes magazine explained why the boys eventually could not be nominated for the category. Citing from the magazine, "While this year was the one in which they changed all the rules about who can rule the charts in America, BTS has been together and releasing music in the U.S. for years, and that is why they won’t be able to compete for this trophy. They landed their first top-10-album back in September 2017, when their EP Love Yourself: Her peaked at No. 7." The magazine emphasizes that the success took place in the previous year's eligibility period -- not this year.
